October is finally done – tomorrow is Halloween but it feels like the summer was only days ago! I honestly don’t know where time has gone, but I have a feeling some of it has to do with having so many great game releases – both tabletop and video – coming out in the past few months!
This weekend looks like it will be quite busy for me, although not necessarily with games. In addition to the typical Halloween parties going on, the anime and cosplay convention Youmacon will be held at Cobo Arena in Detroit this weekend starting this evening. Sadly I could not come up with a decent costume to wear myself, but I do look forward to heading down to the convention and checking out the scene. Seems rather appropriate somehow that an anime/cosplay convention would occur right around Halloween.
And on the topic of Halloween, I should note that there is still time to take advantage of the Halloween Sale on RPGNow. There are tons of great deals and freebie items – like a free PDF of the original Wratih the Oblivion sourcebook and the Ravenloft adventure Plague of Zombies! Also, all the Ravenloft products from WotC are being discounted during the sale, so this is a great time to get the complete 2nd Edition setting very cheap!
I have posted a new EN World Review this week, and in keeping weith the Halloween theme, I’ve got a nice adventure module written for the OSR RPG Castles & Crusades. Night of the Spirits offers a fantasy adventure in post Roman Empire Britain, where strange disappearances during Samhain must be thwarted before its too late!
To read all the details about this historical fantasy adventure module, please click on the link below and charge over to EN World where you can check out the review in full:
By the way, this adventure module is on sale during the RPGNow sale, so definitely check it out!
And for now, I would hope that everyone has a safe and fun Halloween and/or a joyous and blessed Samhain!
So until next review… I wish you Happy Gaming!
