EN World Review – Heroes Against Darkness by Justin Halliday

Heroes Against Darkness coverIf you’re like me, you’re probably counting the days now.  The clock is ticking and timer to GenCon 2012 is counting down, fellow gamers!  In only three more weeks to the day, the “best four days of gaming” will have begun!

But until then, I’ve got yet another product review for you to check out, posted over on EN World News.  This week I took a look at a new retro-clone which has managed to accomplish what WotC is laboring on with D&D Next.  Heroes Against Darkness brings together a wide variety of gaming mechanics from all editions of Dungeons & Dragons, but streamlined to the sensible format we used to enjoy in older editions of the game.

Review of Heroes Against Darkness by Justin Halliday

I think what was most surprising about this game was its price tag – FREE!  Yes, the author created and released a very complete retro-clone of D&D with some really nifty new rules, and he’s not charging a thing to download and play it!  I’d definitely recommend taking a look at the game and seeing if it is right for your D&D group – if nothing else, there is a lot of interesting world building and character personality stuff that you might find uses for in your own campaign!

So until next blog… I wish you happy gaming!

  1. [...] RPG out there called Heroes Against Darkness. It’s worth a look, if only for its price tag. Check out what Neuroglyph Games thought of it [...]

Great review! I’ve recommended this across the web too – especially for those who don’t like the magic system of 3.5.
