News in Review for Dec 13 to Dec 19 2010
If you’re anything like me, trying to juggle preparing for the Holidays, and splitting your time between work and “festive” get-togethers, and still trying to wedge in tome for your favorite hobby, Dungeons & Dragons, starts to feel like a little overwhelming. Today was a perfect example, where I was awoken early to prepare for a trip up north to celebrate some birthdays at the Bavarian restaurant in Frankenmuth, home of the World Famous Christmas store, Bronners.
So with no time to prepare my weekly news blog, I was whisked away into a strangely surreal realm where Christmas cheer is handed out in dump-truck sized quantities – whether you want it or not! And of course, no trip to Bronners would be complete without a tour of the entire store, where bizarrely shaped glass bulbs and ornaments are offered by the tens of thousands to allow a Holiday decorator to inflict their dream – such as a wide world of sports Christmas tree… or maybe a fruits of the world wreath… or any number of eye-popping juxtapositions of the Holidays with, well, just about anything one could imagine, sane or insane!
If ever there was a place just ripe lampooning in a D&D Gamma World adventure, Bronners and the town of Frankenmuth just jumped to the top of my “to-do” list!!!
And just as well, because there was plenty of great articles and excerpts this week preparing for the upcoming release of the D&D Gamma World supplement, Famine in Far-Go! I’m definitely looking forward to checking out my own copy, and all the excerpts and the preview/review by Dave “The Game” at Critical-Hits.com has got me in the mood for more mutant fun! Definitely make some time to check out all the great news, blogs, and reviews this past week as we count down to the Holidays!
So until next blog… I wish you Happy Gaming!
