EN World Pre-Release Review – The Rise of Tiamat by Kobold Press & Wizards of the Coast

TRoT coverHail and Well Met Gentle Readers!

Another week has sped by, Fellow Gamers, and the weekend draws near – with hopefully many opportunities for you all to have some great gaming fun.

Personally, I’ve got plans to do some in-depth playtesting of the new 5E Dungeons & Dragons this coming weekend.  In fact, just last Sunday, I had the opportunity to sit down and create a few characters from scratch and I have to say the process is very streamlined indeed.  And I got to try out a 1st Level character for a few encounters, and the new D&D runs pretty well – although I think hobgoblins are seriously overpowered for CR 1/2 monstersThis coming weekend, the playtest will be with higher level versions of the characters, so it will be interesting to see how the system behaves with considerably more variables in play.

And speaking of the new 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons, I was quite pleased when I got home from work yesterday evening and discovered a package on my doorstep with a copy of the new The Rise of Tiamat adventure book inside!  I spent all last evening reading through the final book of this epic adventure, and I’ve posted a new PRE-RELEASE Review in my weekly column on EN World News!

If you would like to read more about the conclusion of this epic campaign series, please click on the link below and head on over to EN World to read the review in full:

The Rise of Tiamat: Kobold Press & WotC Unleash the Dracopocalypse for D&D 5E in this Pre-Release Review!

I have to say that Steve Winter and the crew over at Kobold Press did a really amazing job creating an epic and exciting adventure – complete with truly end-of-the-world peril and a spectacular finale!  It would not surprise me in the least if this adventure doesn’t someday conjure up the same reminisces that old D&D adventure like Ravenloft or Queen of the Demonweb Pits does.

And I’d like to extend a Thank You to the team at PR306, Wizards of the Coast, and Kobold Press for granting me a pre-release copy of the adventure -very much appreciated and I hope the best with the full release of The Rise of Tiamat in the next few weeks!

So until next review… I wish you Happy Gaming!
