WotC Press Release: The Book of Vile Darkness

book of vile dark coverLooks like a Christmas present came early for me this year!  Just got a package this evening from Wizards of the Coast, and it appears I am fortunate enough to have received a pre-release review copy of the upcoming 4E version of the Book of Vile Darkness, due out on December 20th!

Admittedly, some might find a source book filled with pure Dungeon Master evil might be a bit… strange… at this time of year.   But if you want to highlight a quality, nothing does that quite as well as pairing it up with its opposite, right?

According to the press release, Robert J. Schwalb, who authored this book was noted as saying that this “DM’s book includes extensive quotations and short commentary on the nature of evil by some of D&D’s most iconic villains,” in order to create “a memorable and shocking experience guaranteed to freak your players out.”

What more could you ask for in this Holiday Season?!

I’ll be reviewing the Book of Vile Darkness on Thursday over at EN World News – check back then for complete details about this new D&D 4E sourcebook!

Players that want to “flirt with evil” ? I’m intrested to read in your review if this is actually a source book for running evil PCs in disguise (or not so much disguise).

  2. Well, Dave… you’ll have to wait for tomorrow to read the full answer. But the short answer is “hell yes!”, with an emphasis on the “hell” part.
